Dear Members,

I’d like to introduce myself! I’m Michelle Horner, and I will be the head coach for our 2011 swim season. This will be my 6^th summer coaching the team and my 1^st summer as head coach. I have grown up swimming on the Lakeside swim team, and have had the the opportunity to coach. Elizabeth Hilliard, Marissa Horner and Christie Newhaus will be returning as coaches and Katie Hilliard and Eric Peterson will be joining our coaching staff. Our dive coach Amanda Maccio has decided to return this year with the assistance of Maisie Gibb.

For those of you who are new to the club or the swim team, any member aged 5-18 is welcome to join the team which practices and competes from June 27^th until July 31^st. It is a wonderful way to get involved at the club and for both the swimmers and their parents to meet new friends.

Don’t worry if your child is not a very talented swimmer; all the coaches love spending time in and out if the pool helping each member improve. We have many fun events during and after practice so that everyone is a true part of the team. We also attend B-meets which are designed to give novice and intermediate swimmers an opportunity to compete at their level and an incentive to improve. These activities are fun for all, and every team member is welcomed to come and participate. We want this to be a fun, successful season, and I hope you will join us!

On Monday, June 27^th at 9 am we will be holding a signup and information meeting for all parents whose children are interested in the swim or dive teams. The coaches, the wonderful swim team mothers and some members of the Board of Directors will be there. The Lakeside Swim Team really is a family affair- we would love to meet you all and, of course, get you involved. We have lots of volunteer opportunities at meets and events,which is a great opportunity for you parents to get involved.

I hope all of you are as excited about the 20011 Lakeside Swim & Dive season as we coaches are. This year all the information you’ll need will be available online at www.lakesidefieldclub.com.

Just click on the “swim” tab and choose your option from there. We will be posting the schedule, directions, line-ups, events, forms, and more. Please check back often to stay updated. The fee for each team member will be billed to your Lakeside account. If you have any questions about the swim team, please contact me at mlh71190@aol.com .

Don’t forget: practice starts at 8 am June 27th for the big kids (11 & up) and 9 am for the little kids (10 & under). It is important that everyone comes to practice the first week so the coaches can make lane arrangements for your child. Metro Swim Shop will be at the club on June 28^th from 9-11am to take orders. It is required that every swimmer and diver has a team suit; we want to look like a team!!
